LORE HELP! Looking for some help...What do I say to Iman of Adnastir? I say King, help, Dolzan Garden but can't get anywhere. It's been a long time (and I didn't make note of the exact word) but I'd suggest you try quest, herb(s) or Elrond. I have to remember to write down the key words (it would make helping people so much easier). It has been a while, but I think I said "herbs" or "quest". And being now 24th level and trying to get through the 3rd quest to get the Second piece of the staff. It's murder ! I'm level 36 but well enough equipped that the monster's (even the blue dragon) wasn't too difficult an opponent. I am (of course) playing a magician which seems to make the best sense to me since I can heal my other party members and don't have to run back to town to get healed all the time. If you need any help with the staff pieces let me know (I've completed that quest) and I'll try to 'hint' you along. In my experience it was more dependant on the type of weapons you had... and the type of player, I was playing a spirit mage (?) and could do some serious ass kicking with not much in the way of equipment (spells) but when I played a stoneman, I killed things quickly early on, but then you needed some excellent weaponry in order to kill anything... Hmm, from memory the first piece you can buy from a merchant, the second piece was in a dragon's cave... needed a boat to get there too! :( Subj : Lore HELP ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ I have a question. This may sound stupid. (what a shock?) I have played Lore many times and it looks like a very interesting game, but I can't seem to build enough money for weapons and the likenesses, how do I? As I recall, starting out can be a somewhat slow process. Initially, King Daltorak sends you on a 'test' quest to Shaal and back. I spent my first few levels mostly travelling back and forth between Shaal and the castle. I play a magician so I learned a spell of healing from the beginning. There were no healing potions in the versions before 1.31 (that I had found) which help you get farther from the safety of a healer. Once you get comfortable with play and have a few levels you can explore farther and try to perform the quest to heal Elrond. The money is pretty slow building until you get up in levels and get to face bigger opponents. In the process of completing quests you are awarded 'bonus' values which also help (acquiring the last piece of the staff was worth 200,000). For the most part you have to have some patience and spend your money wisely. 8-). þ
