Miscellaneous Hints: *******************************Dr. Dread******************************** Wondering how to activate KEY QUEST? First you must attempt to open a locked door thus gaining permission to begin the quest. You may be given a hint such as: "you may find this key in the Wild Cat Valley while the Droids are roaming". This means that you've battles left for the day. Look at the design of the terrain, notice the Zone with a picture of a cat? Roam this zone and you will find a chamber where you will have to pass obstacles to get to the key. Starting out>>>Hang out in Zones 1-3 saving up your geckles up for waves(ammo) and life. Mission Hints!! In several missions you must first find scuba gear first before you can swim through the water to the door on the other side. To not get "zapped" by a blinking object simply "walk" into it when it is beside you and "on", then the next move when you are on top of it, it will be "off". If the blinking object is "moving" you can walk into the spot where it currently is because on the next move it will move off of that spot and you will be safe. If you find the secret code letters in order you will gain bonus experience. The secert code letters are spelled out on the botton right of the screen as you find them. Use the "5" key on the numeric pad to stand still and "watch" the blinks to determine the pattern. Subj : Ox Tip of the Day ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Now that version 3.00wb1 is out, there's a lot of uncharted territory for everyone to learn. Today's tip: the option to "Work Land" is one of the most important in the game, and you'll want to take advantage of it nearly every day. In version 1.x and 2.x of Ox, you couldn't make products immediately: you had to claim land, put an ox on it, and hope it would make something for tomorrow. Now, in addition to what your oxen make, you get a number of chances every day to make things with your own hands -- and you can use any land, not just the land you own. In the early days of a game, you can actually make more this way than you can make with all the land you claim! Two things to know: First off, you can only work any given plot once a day. That means you'll have to move around as you work land to take advantage of all of your turns. One effective way to work is to move around and make whatever the game says each plot is good for. :-) Second of all, making products takes some problem-solving skill, so it may take a little time to learn how! Making food and energy is pretty easy, but the valuable stuff -- ore and luxite -- can be challenging sometimes. Subj : Iron Ox ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ -> Hi, -> Well I tried to install IronOx but could not get it to find the uar -> on a 5 node lantastic system. this was after using both the fossile -> /nfossil switches. I was at a loss to do much about it and so just -> dropped it. Any advice? Did you use the default configs and the likes? Did you play it with the /local switch to initialize it before trying to run it as a door? I did both of the above and it seems to work like a champ with Wildcat. *****I found my batch file, and it is as below; @ECHO OFF N:\TNET\OX\IRONOX.EXE /LRIP CD\WC40 Note that it does not change to the ironox directory. I remember now that the docs say it should be executed from the node's work directory so that it can get the port information from the dropfile. If you are changing to the doors directory (as most do) that could be the problem. þ
