Go to Start|settings|control panel|passwords there should be something there that says to allow all users the same settings (top selection if i remember correctly). Another possibility! Hi, ok what you need to do is go into the properties of NETWORK and remove the IPX driver and any other driver you have installed BUT leave the TCP/IP and Dial Up Networking drivers. You are getting asked for a password because your computer is looking to be hooked up to an IPX network. Wait what about.....? Actually, I think that disabling the network drivers will not remove the password box. There is some way to have it remember your name and password; try the Password? control panel or something. I'm not sure if the problem is in the game. Answer: Are you using a "newer" version of G5? I remember the earlier versions used to steal a hunk of memory from you after you left the door, but Tom appears to have that problem nailed down now :) The latest Wide Beta is 1.07, it may be worth your time to freq it. Newest! >Installed the newest. Which is 107a I think. I also have the Scribes Xport, >Bike Shop, The JunkYard Xports, and this neat little addon that is called >Eventer which adds special random events to the game. I run my bbs under Wildcat v4.12MP Dos 6.2 with 8 meg. Hello! I just wanted to drop a few words in here about the XPort you are using (Junk Shuttle v1.01). I finished the code for that not to long ago and suffered a major hard drive failure :( . I Just wanted to let you know that version 1.02 will be out *very* soon since I'm back up and running again. The reason for the concern is that I neglected to backup my registration software (bad! bad programmer!!) and v1.01 cant be registered. So, please be on the look out for 1.02 and install it :) It will detect the old version and overwrite it. It's also been improved a bit too. Thanks. There would only be one problem, which would make > long distance nets unfeasible. This is the only way I can think of it: Possibilty! A possible way of doing this is through a Internet account for long distance interbbs games... Waht about! Well, there is a small program that I use call KA9Q. My local Internet provider has created a small secure area on his FTP site. I host 2 FTP BRE Leagues using this program. Several InterBBS like BRE use file attached netmail to transfer game packets to the league host. Instead of using the normal FTSC transfer and calling long distance. We use KA9Q to dial-up my local Internet provider. (PPP account required) We can transfer any type of game packet to any FTP site. KA9Q is a very powerful program and we are only using a small part of the many features. If you have a PPP account like Earthlink, Netcom etc... Anyone can use this program to move echomail, files or game packets. I run this program as an event and can hammer the FTP site every 2 hours. Turn around times are great and it has reduced the many problems in hosting a InterBBS league. Don't be fooled by the magic name: KA9QBINK and FTPHELP I am open to additions from other systems, but you must be willing to learn how to use this program. FTPHELP is a 2 section help file. First learning how to get KA9Q to dial up from a C:> and understanding how simple to use this program. Section 2 explains how to setup KA9Q to script and move and pickup game packets. This is due to the screen clearing (or lack of) routines. The screen just keeps writing over itself, and never clears on the users end. This is especially bad when someone is in the caves. I had a couple of people try the game, and liked it, but can't play it due to their not being able to play without exiting the game and then going back into the game. If you get it fixed, I'll take another look at it. It plays fine locally, but not remotely due to the garbled screen. It basically reads the data from your ASCII score bulletins then compiles the information into a single ANSI bulletin. The bulletin is created each time the door is called during a logon or from a menu, not once a night during maintainance. This way it is always as up-to-date as your games bulletins. Since I just finished this, there is pre-configured support for only about 40 different doors. Many more will be added over the next several weeks. I originally wrote this specifically for my system last year, and have found that the competion in the games added to this bulletin increased significantly.
