Hello All! How many LORD clones will CyberSpace support??? It looks like the answer shouldn't be too long in coming!! As always, all files mentioned are available for freq at 28.8. Most are available on the InterNet at ftp.ldl.net. I meant to install Galaxy 5. It is still in my TODO directory. Thomas J. Smith put out a delightful freeware LORD IGM with FUN11.ZIP. I liked his concept and his coding. G5106B.ZIP is an admitted LORD clone set in space. Many Sysops are reporting heavy user interest. Registration is $15. Upgrades are coming out pretty fast with this door. I keep the latest that I have available under the magic name G5. Considering my attitude about magic names, you can tell that I was impressed with this programmer's work!!! I'll never be able to give any particular reason why I installed Star Dock Loco instead. It's also a LORD clone set in space. I had to fight installation just a tad, but this one is done with the Open Doors Library and I've worked with that library a lot. I always feel fairly confident about any door using that driver. SDLOCO20.ZIP does have a bit different twist to it. Registration is $15. WLDWST1A.ZIP is yet another LORD clone. This one is set in the Wild West. The current version only supports single node play and registration is $20. That seems a bit steep for a single node version. However, I found myself liking this door. Installation was a complete no-brainer and the graphics are cute. Time will tell whether my users share my enthusiasm. That was enough RPGs for me right now. Enough is enough!! When I'm in the notion of looking at more LORD clones, DRAKE2_1.ZIP is another that seems appealling. USURP015.ZIP has been released...supposedly with all the bugs fixed and a clean mode option. Having fought that sucker five times, I'm not feeling any urgency about tackling it yet again. Before moving away from the RPG field, a couple of LORD IGMs deserve mention. The messenger has been having a high old time in my LORD game. Ken Weitzel has come out with yet another winner in MSNGR10.ZIP. Registration is $3. The king has been having quite a dilemma here, as well. TKD10D.ZIP is another good IGM from Joshua Eckerman. Registration is $5. I have to admit that I'm getting a bit curious about how many LORD IGMs CyberSpace will support!!! Mike Snyder, author of Lunatix, has come out with an ANSI puzzle door. SZONE20B.ZIP is $10. The installation program is kewl!! The door popped in with no problems and it looks like it will be a challenge for the players. Time will tell whether users want a challenge. Each month I'm treating myself to a look at a "standard" that I haven't tried. Mike Jordan says that CHUKALUK.ZIP is his personal favorite of his doorgames although it hasn't received nearly the attention of Jewel Thief or Tri-Bingo. There are two doorgames that I'd especially like to mention, but neither are out of BETA yet:(!! GuTTerBoWL is a remake of the old BBS bowling door. HiLo is a new card/gambling doorgame from Tim Ward. I think that both will be winners:)!! I didn't have any clear "winners" last month:(!! FBB123.ZIP is receiving heavy play on a number of BBSs. The concept is different and cute. While it didn't receive all that much play here, I'd still recommend it as worthy of consideration. The 97% new Planet Teos has also received some play, although it hasn't broken any records. The latest wide BETA release is TEOS2WB2.ZIP. How many LORD clones will CyberSpace support? Stay tuned for future developments!!! Della þ
