The Entruscan healer has told me all about the Magic Armour and I'm seeking out the Malgash. But i can't find any swamp anywhere in any Bartainian forest, I've scanned the whole area using gems and have come up with naught...Could you possibly give me a clue? I hate giving too many clues as it tends to spoil the fun but have a look in the SE part of the Bartainian forest! Good luck. Subj : Arrowbridge ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ I am having trouble figuring out how to get quests on Abridge. I started playing once before getting to about 5th level and then I stopped because I could do nothing more than fight. I am never able to enter dungeons or anything and I can't find anyone to talk to to get quests... I have always updated my versions but hesitate to play or register the door because of the fact I can't find anything to do (I know there ARE Things to do but I can't seem to figure out how..) any help would be appreciated!! ****the 'quests' in Arrowbridge only begin once you've reached level 8 with enough XP for level 9 (the first dungeon quest). Once you've obtained the XP you can go visit the wizard Merxon and he'll send you to the dungeon. In the unregistered version level 9 is as far as you are allowed to go. In the levels below 9 you are still 'learning' the game and are 'expected' to do some exploring, properly equip yourself and get a 'feel' for the lay of the land. Once you've begun the level quests you will (from time to time) happen across someone asking for money in exchange for information. These encounters lead to 'Mini Quests' for Amulets and Magic items. At level 5 you would spend most of your time in the graveyard in Arrowbridge Shire building cash (for equipment and potions) and experience. It's a very good, stable game with very few bugs (or things that don't work as they are supposed to). I paid to register it within the first week I began playing (when the game was at V 1.08) and it quickly became my favorite place to play. I know you probably recognize my name from another game's echo which I only began playing about a month ago. Lore is more detailed and prettier but Arrowbridge is well tested and has few (if any) problems or dead ends. Subj : Arrowbridge ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ I am a lowly level 8 character, with more than enough experience to go to level 9. However, I although I know that you have to visit the wizard in Kraete to be promoted, I have been looking for Kraete for days now ( I found it once, long before I was level 8) and haven't been able to get there. Any suggestions? I'll try to save you the wait for your message to get to Australia and back. First of all you haven't listened quite closely enough to the message about Merxon. It says 'The Wizard Merxon can be found on the way to Kraete'. Once you've reached Kraete you've gone too far. The shire of Kraete is south and east of Arrowbridge (Philistia is between them). The above message is a bit misleading as to the wizard's location. You'll have to explore off road to find him. ** Do you know where Braid is ? If not, go to Axbury and follow the path south. Keep following the path till you cross a bridge. ** That's where Braid is, continue following the path south until you find the T-Intersection and go East. Follow until you get into the mountainous area. You'll find Merxon in there. Subj : Arrowbridge....help needed ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Well me having real trouble in arrowbridge, i can't seem to find any of the special missions, i go to the inns and talk to the bartender and he gives me little hints like D.Mammon has barbed devils to protect domain, and d.mammon is in the dungeon to the north in the mountains, but whenever i get these sorts of hints, i try finding the areas, and well have no joy!!!!! I'm not sure which 'missions' you're referring to. The quests you must complete to advance beyond level 8 all come from the wizard Merxon in his tower. There are 'special' items which are commonly referred to as 'mini-quests' which you find out about by encountering someone, as you travel the land, who asks for some money in exchange for the information. What you learn in the taverns is VERY useful but not usable on it's own (with a couple of exceptions). Are you having problems finding a specific dungeon or magic item? It would help if you asked a more detailed question. *** Also gems, how go i get heaps of them, i only ever seem to have 1 every few days, makes it hard, especially if your looking for that special place..... 'Heaps' of gems are not easy to come by. Gems can be found in the occasional chest or armoury and can sometimes be found in a fountain. Most of us save them until we can't seem to find what we are looking for any other (reasonable) way. I guess that's what you're doing. Subj : That Darned 1st mission ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Well, I've been wandering all over the Kraete area for the last two days and haven't found the wizard yet, but I *did* run across a Dragon's Lair that was chock full of treasure. I ended up awaking the dragon and getting myself killed (a real downer, as I was so thrilled to have found that lair and all the stuff in it). Dragon's Lairs are among the random events in the game. You will sometimes find more than one in a day or go weeks without finding one. When you're powerful and well equipped enough that the dragon isn't too much of a threat it is the quickest place to get money. If you don't think you're strong enough to take on the dragon just take a few chests and leave. I have gotten all of them without waking the dragon (and had to 'step' on him to get his attention so I COULD kill him). In previous versions you would sometimes get them instead of tombs in the graveyards (I haven't had this happen for quite some time so I don't know if it still does). ****I would like to know if you'll give me another hint, as far as finding that Wizard goes. I remember you said that once you've gone to Kraete you've gone too far, but I can't help but wonder why the old man tells you to pay the wizard in Kraete a visit. I'm really enjoying the game, but I'm getting a little frustrated at not being able to participate in my first mission. I can understand your frustration. I've encountered a number of places where frustration seemed to be the only thing I was getting accomplished. Try exploring the hills near the border. It can burn quite a few turns but there are a number of interesting things in that range of mountains. There is also a lesson to be learned from these discoveries. Mark likes to 'hide' things and mountains is one of his favorite hiding places. Sorry, but... which border are you interested in. To find Merxon you cross the border between Arrowbridge and Philistia and 'on the road to Kraete' you'd near Philistia's border with it. You might want to re-read the above reply and think it through. It's fairly obvious (and I wouldn't be surprised if you found him before you get this reply). 8-). þ
