>>>>>>>>>>>>Public Information on-line The American Information Network has just released an add-on Door for use with just about any BBS platform on the market. The "Interface" as it is titled will allow callers to access an ever growing mass of Public Record information while earning the Sysop a few dollars at the same time. The basic interface package from AIN includes an on-line Nationwide Name/Address/Phone Directory. This is not a CD-ROM system. The information is received over a 1-800 line from a network of many large database systems such as BMV records, census, magazine subscriptions and city telephone directories throughout the nation. All of which are updated on a daily basis assuring accurate up-to-date results. One of the eight standard features is names EDA, short for electronic directory assistance. This system works from the same computers as the local 411 operator, just as if you talked to him/her directly. A phone number cross reference and an address identifier are also included in the basic package. Search by city, state or nation using as little as a last name only. Further upgrade modules specific to your interest are available from AIN. Add-on modules such as pre-employment screening, background investigations, business protections and personal protection narrow down the cost of availability tot he sysop by focusing on your use. For instance, a sysop of a missing persons BBS would be interested in adding a module that allows callers to locate the current address and/or any previous addresses based ONLY on a social security number. The returned information arrives on your system within a few minutes. The kinds of reports available in these packages include consumer and business credit reports, driving records, criminal records, motor vehicle registrations, consumer and business public filings, UCC, SEC, real property identifier, etc. Public record is information about the public and is available to the public. The access to it can be found on your desktop. The American Information Network provides automated electronic availability to the entire domain of public information in one step. With the interface program the one stop can be your system. Furthermore, the interface is an enhancement to your existing system because the source of the information is transparent to your users and the menus are configurable by you. An important fact that cannot be over looked by any sysop is that AIN will pay a commission based upon the amount of report traffic generated through your host. There is a report cost associated with each information request which will vary depending on the type of report being requested. The payment is handled via Visa/ Mastercard, all automatically processed by the Interface using AIN's merchant account. In the meantime, the sysop is earning a commission on sales around 20% from all reports coming through their host. AIN has a demonstration BBS on-line where you can call and get more information at (216) 456-7771. Sysops can also arrange a sample demonstration by E-mail at mdh@ameri.com or calling Michael Hughes at (216) 499-1140. þ
