FEATURED BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM Have you been looking for something to do? Have you been wanting to meet new friends? Here is your chance, do it on-line with Lincoln County's only full service Bulletin Board Service! Meet Don Bindley, Systems Operator of the FireBurners BBS. Addicted to the on-line world, Don started the FireBurners BBS two years ago as an attempt to make a contribution to his community and maybe keep some kids off the streets. Besides, he realized that the on-line world was going to be the future of communications. Yes, even in Oregon. About FireBurners: Having started up only a couple of years ago it still is in its infancy as a system. Presently the BBS is only two (2) lines with full InterNet access. FireBurners runs 75 on-line games, on-line publi- cations, on-line chat, 225 message areas and 10 CDs are available. Prior to the InterNet being incorporated into the system FireBurners boasted nearly 1000 message areas. FireBurners is also the official North American distribution / registration site for the Arrowbridge door game. (SEE AD for the latest released version following this article). They are a distribution site for Digital Interface Software (writers of Future Runner, Nuclear Wars, Board Base Pro, Word Mix, Rebel Kingdom and soon to be released Island Empires) and Seth Able doors (Legend of the Red Dragon and Planets). All this is run under Wildcat 4.01. FireBurners is always looking for other writers of software that would need an additional distribution and /or registration site. Don and everyone at FireBurners BBS believe they have the foundation of a very large on-line service for the West Coast and some of the Midwest. Their InterNet connection is established through the Cyberspace Transporter door via New Visions, Inc. Don recognizes that two incoming lines is limiting but with advertising and increased recognition to his service the system can only grow larger. FireBurners BBS is not named after famous fire bugs but rather the papermill in Oregon where Don operates the recovery boilers and retains a "fire" in them to produce steam, hence "FireBurners". FireBurners stands strong in family unity and is built with this atmosphere in mind. Don would like to see the whole family become involved in this on-line world and promotes this with his special family pricing policy. Pricing policy for BBS is as follows: Individually, One month $5.00, 6 month $27 and one year $45 while family prices are $10, $45 and $60 re- spectfully. InterNet Prices are: $25 a month for BBS subscribers while it is $35 a month for non-BBS subscribers. Price includes 2 hours a day on the InterNet.
